Opening Night Reception
Tuesday, May 4

You are invited to join Fabulous Beast Dance Theatre, the World Stage team and World Stage Ambassadors for a post-show reception in the Watermark Irish Pub (at the foot of the escalators in the Queen’s Quay Terminal) for food, drinks and an opportunity to discuss this radical interpretation of Giselle.

Post-Show Q-and-A
Wednesday, May 5

Stay after the show for what is bound to be a lively Q-and-A with the company, including Fabulous Beast director, Michael Keegan-Dolan. This provocative and spectacular production is sure to evoke many questions about the re-visioning of classics and the play between traditions onstage and the effect of contemporary sensibilities.

Ballerina Evelyn Hart will moderate the Q-and-A with Michael Keegan-Dolan.

Evelyn Hart is one of Canada's most loved prima ballerinas. She was promoted to principal dancer of the world renowned Royal Winnipeg Ballet at the age of 23, just three years after she first joined the company as a member of the corps de ballet. In addition to touring internationally with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, she has also performed, as a guest, with other well-known companies such as the National Ballet of Canada, Bayerische Staatsballett and the Sadler's Wells Royal Ballet.

Hart became an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1983 and was promoted to Companion in 1994, Canada's highest civilian honour. In 2001, she received a Governor General's Performing Arts Award to recognize her lifetime achievement in the performing arts.
