Opening Night Reception
Wednesday, April 7

We invite you to join choreographer Ame Henderson and Public Recordings, the World Stage team, and World Stage Ambassadors for a post-show reception in the lobby of the Enwave Theatre. There will be refreshments and light snacks provided.

*Admission is free-of-charge with a purchased ticket.

Pre-Show Talks
Prior to each performance, 7pm

Each evening, Ame Henderson will be joined by a special guest for a formal discussion about her work and her process. Audience members are invited to come down to Harbourfront Centre an hour before the show at 7pm to sit in on the discussion between Henderson and the guest artist. The invited artist will be familiar with Henderson’s work, or have an artistic curiosity in the unique language that Henderson develops to structure her choreographies.

Ame Henderson is described as an artist who is leading the way in contemporary dance both in Canada and internationally. Her work is unlike other work seen on Toronto stages. This pre-show talk is an incredible opportunity for audience members to enter the theatre in a way that one would enter an art gallery with an art historian in tow.

Thursday, April 8 – Helena Reckitt – senior curator of programs at The Power Plant
Friday, April 9 – Kate Hilliard, interpreter at Dancemakers

Post-Show Q-and-A
Thursday, April 8

Stay after the show for a post-show Q-and-A with Ame Henderson and members of Public Recordings company. This is a unique opportunity to ask questions about Public Recordings performance practices and the language they are creating that is influencing the world of both dance and theatre in Toronto and abroad.

Moderated by long-time collaborator of Ame Henderson/Public Recordings, dramaturge, writer, director and performer, Jacob Zimmer.

Jacob Zimmer is artistic director of Small Wooden Shoe and also works extensively in dance as the resident dramaturge and animateur at Dancemakers in Toronto.
