A solo exploration of identity from one of France’s hottest choreographers.

“I see myself as a portraitist,” Rachid Ouramdane says. “I want to create a portrait through the voices of many people.” On the cutting edge of performance art, the acclaimed choreographer incorporates dance, video footage, a pedal-controlled sound score and beat-inspired poetry into Loin...(Far...)

He follows his father’s journey as an Algerian soldier in the French Army, interviewing the people he meets along the way to better understand how colonial occupation has influenced their sense of identity today. Heart-rending, exhilarating and deeply personal, Ouramdane weaves an unforgettable tale.

NOTE: Fabrice Lambert will dance in Rachid Ouramdane's role.
