Availability of Our Policies
Our online accessibility policies are available via the links below. Upon request, they may also be provided in other more suitable formats that take into account a person's disability. Harbourfront Centre is committed to providing a welcoming and accessible destination for all visitors. We embrace the principles of dignity, independence, integration and equal opportunity to serve our visitors with disabilities and our community at large.
In accordance with the AODA Customer Service Standard, Harbourfront Centre has documented a series of policies and procedures that deal specifically with the following issues:
- assistive devices
- service animals
- support persons
- alternate means of communication
- training for staff and volunteers
- feedback mechanisms
- communicating temporary disruptions in service
Planning your visit
Arriving at the site
All of our parking lots have designated Accessible Parking; availability is on a first arrival basis. The closest parking facility to all of our venues is located underground, below Ontario Square, at 225 Queens Quay West.
To facilitate drop offs for people with mobility issues, please contact our Security Desk at 416-973-4885 to make arrangements to have the gate opened, to allow for the closest access to the venues.
Harbourfront Centre is wheelchair accessible.
Wheelchair seating can be accommodated in all of our theatres with advance booking through our box-office. Seating may vary according to the configuration of the house.
Wheelchair rental or loan is not available. There is one wheelchair designated for emergencies which may be available occasionally. Please contact our Security Desk at 416-973-4885 for inquiries about borrowing the wheelchair.
Accessible restrooms can be found throughout the site.
Assisted hearing devices
Infrared hearing devices are available at the Fleck Dance Theatre and at the Harbourfront Centre Theatre. Please notify one of our Front Of House staff at the time of entry to arrange device pick- up prior to the performance.
Harbourfront Centre recognizes and accepts the Access 2 Entertainment Card. Complimentary admission to ticketed events will be provided to a support person accompanying a visitor with a disability.
A service animal may accompany a visitor or any third party with a disability to all areas that are open to the public and in all of our venues, unless the animal is otherwise excluded by law from the premises, in which case the reason for the exclusion will be explained. In these circumstances, other reasonable arrangements to access our services will be explored in consultation with the person with the disability and provided where possible.
Accessible tours or classes
Accessible tours of our site or galleries can be arranged with advance notice and consultation with our staff at the Information Desk.
Our courses and workshops can be arranged to best serve the needs of all of our patrons with advance notice and consultation with registration staff in the specific departments or areas.
