Steph Cloutier is a francophone artist from Toronto, Canada. She received her BFA with Distinction in Sculpture and Installation, minoring in Material Arts and Design (Textiles) at OCAD University.
She is a multidisciplinary artist and maker with a primary focus on textiles, performance and video. Her practice looks at the notion of empathy and used tools of repair as an act of resistance and futility. Currently, she is focused on material exploration, specifically working with embroidery and paper.
She has participated in other residencies such as Once Upon Water on Artscape Gibraltar Point, Toronto Islands, and the Global Experience Project: Recipes for Resistance in Naples, Italy.
Prior to studying and making art full-time, Steph was a professional freelance photographer and also worked as a content specialist in the private sector.
Steph was accepted as an Artist-in-Residence (Textiles) at Harbourfront Centre in 2020.
