The Shoe Project 
The Shoe Project is an ongoing writing and storytelling workshop for women who are new to Canada, founded and directed by Katherine Govier. Filiz Dogan is from The Shoe Project Alumni, a group of women who make known their stories of migration to Canada. She runs a project in the mental health field and works as a psychotherapist. She is the curator and host of the program called The Shoe Project Presents Folktales.

The Shoe Project


Seven storytelling alumni from The Shoe Project share folktales and personal stories of shoes, immigration, struggle and triumph, from Turkey, Taiwan, Pakistan, South Sudan, and China.

Featuring: Filiz Dogan, Irena Rodziewicz, Teenaz Javat, Kiden Jonathan, Mariana Rocha, Cordelia Tang and Yuli Hu.
