Madeleine Owen 
Madeleine Owen is the artistic director of the Montréal early music group, La Cigale. In spring of 2013 she launched a CD of Italian works for theorbo, Tiorba Obbligata, accompanied by members of La Cigale. Tiorba Obbligata was nominated for a cd of the year award in Québec’s Prix Opus 2012-13. She performs regularly as a soloist, chamber musician and continuo player. She can be heard in concert series such as, Orgue et couleurs the Lamèque, Montréal and Boston early music festivals and the OSM’s Virée Classique. Madeleine Owen performs regularly with groups such as La Nef, Les idées heureuses, Ensemble Appassionata, Helios Early Opera (Boston), ¡Saccabuche! (Sackville), the Toronto Masques Theatre and the Central City Opera (Colorado).

Four hundred years later, lutenist Madeleine Owen invites you to discover this delicate and rafined instrument throught its timeless design and enchanting melodies.
