Register at the Harbourfront Centre Learning Office, located on the 3rd floor of 235 Queens Quay West. We are open Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm.

Register early as classes fill up quickly! The deadline for registration is two business days prior to the start date of the lessons. Private Lessons must be booked in advance.
All participants must submit a signed waiver prior to participating in any lesson. Parent/guardian signatures are required on waivers for skaters who are under 18 years of age.
All participants must adhere to the set policies in place for the safe use of the Natrel Rink.
Full payment of course fees is required when you register.
Cash or cheques/money orders payable to Harbourfront Centre are accepted only when you register in person at the Learning Office.
There will be a $45 administration fee for NSF cheques or declined credit card transactions.
Refunds must be requested in writing no later than ten (10) business days prior to the start of the class. Registrations made within ten (10) business days of the first class will not be subject to a refund.
Cancellations must be made 10 business days prior to the start of class. Cancellations made within 10 business days of the first class are subject to approval and must be accompanied with supporting documentation (i.e. doctors note). All cancellations are subject to a cancellation fee of $25.
Transfers can be made up to the first class without a transfer fee and are subject to class availability. Transfers made after the first class will be subject to a transfer fee of $25. We will waive this fee if the transfer is made by recommendation or request of a Learn to Skate instructor.
There are no cancellations/refunds given after the first class.
It is the policy of Learn to Skate not to offer make up classes unless the class was cancelled by the Harbourfront Centre Learn to Skate staff. Classes will be rescheduled on Monday or Friday of the following week.
If a patron is unable to attend the rescheduled class, no refund will be issued.
If a class that has been rescheduled is cancelled again, a refund will be issued.
Please dress for the weather as you will be outside for your lesson. It is important to dress in clothing that will allow you to move freely while keeping you warm and dry.
Snowpants or waterproof pants are highly recommended. Jeans are not suitable for skating. Participants should have a pair of gloves/mitts. Waterproof gloves/mitts are ideal.
CSA approved hockey helmets are required for ALL participants. Bicycle, Ski and Snowboard helmets are not permitted. Face masks are not mandatory, but younger skaters may benefit from added protection.
No skates or helmet? No problem! We can rent them to you.
Renters will be required to surrender a valid government issued ID for all skate or helmet rentals. Rentals are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. All prices include relevant tax.
Adult skates: $13

Adult skate/helmet combo: $16
Child/Youth (17 and under) skate/helmet combo: $9
Skate sharpening: $10
Washrooms, coin-operated lockers, skate sharpening and change rooms are located in the Skate Change Room, located toward the south end on the east side of the Artport, near the Natrel Rink.
Lessons are held unless weather conditions are extreme. We use the Toronto Islands forecast, which often differs from the Toronto Pearson forecast by a couple of degrees.
Weather conditions change throughout the day. In extreme cases, cancellation of classes may occur after they have started for the day. Classes cancelled by Harbourfront Centre will be rescheduled. Classes are subject to cancellation due to the following conditions: Heavy precipitation (rain, snow, hail), extreme wind, lightning and/or extreme cold (-15 C air temp. or -25 C with wind chill).

Cancellation of lessons will be at the discretion of the Manager of Recreational Learning or Learn to Skate Coordinator.

It is the responsibility of the participant to call the INFO LINE at 416 973 1620 after 3pm (Monday Friday) or after 7:30am (Saturday Sunday) prior to the start of their lesson to ensure that classes are running for the day regardless of weather as there may be other circumstances for cancellations.
Classes cancelled by Harbourfront Centre will be rescheduled and/or refunded a prorated amount if we are unable to reschedule the lesson.

Book a one-on-one lesson or a lesson with up to three of your closest friends! This is a great opportunity to focus on specific skills with your own personal instructor. Lessons are available for all skating levels. Each class includes 55 minutes of instruction.
All participants in a Private Lesson must be at the same level of skating skill.Adults and children must be in separate lessons.
