Voices from the 6: An auditory Kuumba experience

February 13 – March 22, 2021

Voices from the 6 collects audio stories that speak to the Afro-Canadian experience in Toronto, exploring the idea of what it means to unapologetically stand in your Blackness while speaking to your inner truths. These short, recorded stories are presented onsite and outdoors at Harbourfront Centre, where visitors can listen while safely distancing.

Northern Ontario Diaries: An auditory travel experience

January 15 – February 6, 2021

This year’s edition of the Festival of Cool will look a bit closer to home and will showcase artists from Northern Ontario. When you find out that Ontario is approximately a third the size of India or three times the size of Germany, it puts our province into perspective and hints at just how much there is to discover!

Harbourfront Centre’s Natrel Pond becomes a liquid dance floor for Argentine tango, balboa and vogue. Aim your device at the large image in the centre of the pond and dancers will appear before your eyes. Experience the beauty and intimacy of social dance and the power of touch and physical connection – in augmented reality. Available daily, dawn until dusk.

Project: 2020 Signature Program

Presenter: Fall For Dance North in collaboration with Harbourfront Centre

FFDN’’s 2020 Signature Program features six world premieres by emerging and established Canadian dancemakers, including a new work from Calgary-based Tap star Lisa La Touche, co-commissioned by Harbourfront Centre. Live streamed from the Fleck Dance Theatre, this exciting virtual event can be enjoyed live or on demand until October 18. Tickets are $15.
