An exciting collaboration for 2019-20! School Visits partners with The Power Plant to present a one-of-a-kind experience beginning with an engaging tour of Rashid Johnson’s exhibition Anxious Audiences.

Following the tour, students will participate in a collaborative printmaking workshop focusing on themes of portraiture, identity and personal stories.

Program Objectives
By the end of the monoprinting program, students will:

  • Discover the history of printmaking through historical and contemporary examples
  • Explore monoprinting techniques, the elements of design (colour, line, shape and texture) and the integration of text into visual arts pieces
  • Use vocabulary as related to printmaking and mixed media appropriately
