 About Iyá Iré:

Iyá Iré’s mission is to educate communities about the diversity and beauty of Afro-Cuban traditions through performance. Iyá Iré’s vision is to be ambassadors of Afro-Cuban tradition and inspire community members to further their education of the diversity of Canada’s international fabric.   Iyá Iré is Toronto’s newest and most vibrant Afro-Cuban folkloric performance group. Specializing in several different genres of Afro-Cuban traditions, Iyá Iré presents an enthralling and comprehensive interpretation of Cuban folklore by a diverse group of young musicians and dancers. The Afro-Cuban folkloric traditions Iyá Iré perform are part of every-day life in Cuba today, representing the myriad of colourful gods, pulsating rhythms, and fascinating histories which gives Cuba its special energy.
