Interested in performing in Summer Music in the Garden?
Summer Music in the Garden presents classical music from the European tradition (ca. 50% of the season), along with traditional and classical “world” music. Occasionally we present children’s programming that has a strong musical component. A typical season will include music by Bach, string quartets by Beethoven, Haydn and others, baroque music on period instruments, South Asian ragas, Middle Eastern music, new music, and traditional music from Asia, Europe, and North America.
If you are a professional musician working in one of the above genres and are interested in performing in Summer Music in the Garden, please send a proposal to the artistic director, Tamara Bernstein.
Proposals that do not meet the following criteria may not receive a reply:
Jazz, pop and rock music are NOT part of Summer Music in the Garden; kindly do not submit proposals for these genres.
Due to the outdoor nature of the venue, pianos cannot be included in the programming.
Additionally, please note that we are a relatively low-tech venue, and cannot accommodate large ensembles.
Proposals are welcome at any time of the year, but booking for each summer is complete by early March. Musicians are encouraged to look over previous seasons’ programming before sending a query.
