Sunday Scene: Ekow Nimako

2:00pm – 3:00pm

Ekow Nimako is a Toronto-based artist who creates sculptures out of Lego bricks, which he uses to examine issues of social justice. Nimako has exhibited at Nuit Blanche, the Art Gallery of Ontario, BAND Gallery and more, and will participate in The Brain Project this summer in Toronto. Nimako will discuss Ydessa Hendeles’ exhibition The Milliner’s Daughter at The Power Plant.

Power Kids: Rainbow Bodies

Sunday, June 25, 2017
3:00pm – 5:00pm

Ydessa Hendeles has created an installation titled From her wooden sleep…, in which wooden manikins represent people – some insiders, some outsiders – but the manikins are mostly monochromatic. After discussing the contextual importance of Hendeles’ installation, we will design and make marionette shadow puppets out of paper and cardboard using all the colours of the rainbow as a symbol of inclusion!

There's always something happening at Harbourfront Centre!
