Savik Ramkay is Program Coordinator of the Aviation Safety and Operations programs at Seneca College. A highly regarded professional, he educates students in various aspects of the aviation industry including Canadian aviation regulations, safety procedures and other technical and practical skills in airside operations. Ramkay will discuss Amalia Pica’s exhibition 'ears to speak of.'

Power Kids: Billboards and Beyond

Sunday, December 10, 2017
3:00pm – 5:00pm

These FREE arts workshops for children ages 7-12 begin with a tour of the gallery and conclude with an art activity, inspired by the ideas behind the current exhibition. Tours and workshops are led by Amanda Foulds, Power Kids Family Programs Coordinator and assisted by Erica Cristobal, Power Kids Teaching Assistant. While photographing different urban sites in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sammy Baloji often finds billboard advertisements depicting cityscapes from Dubai and other recent hot spots from the Global South to which the Congo aspires. After discussing Baloji’s interest in Congo’s imagined future, we will design and create our own billboard complete with glowing lights.
