Organization of Calypso Artistes - Calypso STARS Showcase

A Two-and-a-half hour show hosted by storyteller/author Itah Sadu will feature eight of the most popular and original calypso songs to be chosen from the 2011 Calypso Tents Music Series (CTMS), an event that takes place around Toronto over five weekends in June and early July and presented by the Organization of Calypso Performing Artistes.

The art is commonly referred to as "dub poetry" or "reggae poetry," but Mutabaruka prefers not to limit his work with labels. His words are spoken in Jamaica's popular language, in the venerated tradition of the country's first "people's poet" Louise Bennett.
