Come taste a sweet bite of tradition and witness the making of soft moon cakes while admiring handmade lanterns at this year’s Tet Trung Thu: A Mid-Autumn Celebration.

Try samples of delicious moon cakes with complimentary hot tea. Moon cakes will be available in a variety of flavours including black bean, red bean, mung bean and lotus paste with salted eggs. There will be demonstrations on the art of making soft moon cakes. Mini soft moon cakes will be given out free to children 12 years of age or younger.
While you’re indulging in moon cakes, visit the lantern competition in the adjacent display tent. Everyone is invited to enter!
All lanterns entered into the competition will be displayed starting at 2pm and judged at 6pm. The results will be announced on the Redpath Stage in the closing ceremony at 7:15pm.
There are two categories: under 12 years old and over 12 years old. The under 12 entry fee is $5 and offers $100, $50 and $25 cash prizes. The over 12 entry fee is $10 and offers $200, $100 and $50 prizes.
