About Micah Barnes:

Micah Barnes is a top industry coach recommended by managers, labels, producers and directors in the Canadian and US film, television and music industry to work with artists on voice, performance and career strategy. Micah is also a successful recording artist whose career has included the #1 Billboard hit "Welcome to My Head" as well as traveling the world recording and performing with the pop a cappella group The Nylons. Micah's coaching credits include Andrew Lloyd Webber's hit CBC TV show How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria and working with cast members of Broadways' Pricilla Queen of the Desert and Andrew Loyd Weber's The Sound of Music as well as pop artists such as Blake McGrath of So You Think You Can Dance Canada. Micah is currently in his third year as faculty at the Banff Centre for the Arts.


The Singer's Playground


Engage one-on-one in this workshop led by former Nylon, Micah Barnes. Each participant will perform a song for the class and work on the issues and challenges faced in performance. This interactive masterclass will cover vocal technique, proper warm-up, material selection, relationship with audience, physical movement and stage fright issues. Bring a few songs you know well enough to perform a cappella.
