TIMES / VENUES

The Power Plant
231 Queens Quay West
Inspired by the project Dissenting Histories: 25 Years of The Power Plant, participants of this workshop will explore materials from the gallery’s large archive and make their own creative archive in the form of a time capsule. The workshop will feature a special guest, Art Metropole’s Registrar/Archivist Denise Ryner, who will lead an engaging discussion on various facets of collecting and archiving. Children will then make their own time capsules using printed ephemera such as magazines and newspapers, personal drawings and letters. Participants are encouraged to bring a small personal item to include. At the end of the workshop, participants will have a sealed time capsule to take home.
Parents are expected to join their children in all activities. Led by artist-educator and Animateur at The Power Plant Anna Bouzina.
For children ages 8 – 12 and their younger siblings and adult companions. Call 416.973.4949 to reserve a spot.
