On Thursday, June 21, book professionals will convene at Harbourfront Centre to explore the persuasive factors that influence what readers discover in the age of abundance at Book Summit 2012.
We now have more choice than ever in what we read. New genres, formats, platforms, and publishing opportunities mean there is now an abundance of content to explore, but how exactly do readers make their choices?
Book Summit's The Page and Persuasion examines ways to connect with your audience and encourage sales. We will look at new models within all sectors of the book industry and be guided by panels of experts through the practicalities and creative considerations of reader engagement. The day begins with a keynote address by advertising guru Terry O’Reilly. Publishing clairvoyant Mike Shatzkin will give us his take on the current publishing environment. Lively panels and workshops will contribute to a stimulating day.
