About Kate Haynes:

Kate Haynes is a cellist devoted to historical performance of all periods. With baroque ensembles such Arion, Tafelmusik, B’Rock and Aradia, she has appeared at festivals throughout North America and Europe and recorded for the Naxos, ATMA, Artemis/Vanguard, and labels.

Kate studied modern cello with Laurence Lesser at the New England Conservatory and baroque cello with Jaapter Linden at the Royal Dutch Conservatory in the Hague, after completing a bachelor’s degree in Scandinavian studies at Harvard College. She is currently pursuing a DMus in 19th-century performance practice at McGill University in Montreal.

Bach at Dusk


Baroque cellist Kate Haynes continues her cycle of J.S. Bach’s suites for solo cello with the soulful, dark-hued Suite No. 2 in D Minor, BWV 1008.
