Lyric Dubee

At age nine, Lyric Dubee began taking guitar lessons using his father’s guitar. For Lyric's 10th birthday he received his first guitar and he hasn't looked back since!  Within one year, Lyric had played in his school talent show and had landed a spot in the Barrie New Music Festival. Now, after playing for only four years, Lyric has played in a variety of venues.

At age 12, Lyric wrote and recorded the music and lyrics for his debut album, Broken Dreams, with a release party held at the MacLaren Arts Centre in Barrie in May 2011. Lyric's video for "You Instead" was picked up by the OPP and featured on their Facebook and Twitter pages. The song also aired during the New Music Hour on Rock 95.

Lyric won the Best Young Songwriters award at the Barrie New Music Festival 2011 and was approached by Rogers TV to use his album as the soundtrack to a new show, New Slang, which aired September 2011.
