Born and bred in Whakatane in the north island of New Zealand, Joe Harawira is a storyteller and expert in tikanga (protocols), and is a passionate teacher and performer of kapahaka (performing arts).
Joe embodies our 'Worldviews' sub-theme 'From The Land We Walk', representing the importance of Indigenous' ties to their homelands as well as the urban concrete places indigenous people have migrated to.
