About Naila Keleta-Mae:

Naila Keleta-Mae is an artist-scholar who makes words come alive. She is a performance poet, singer-songwriter, recording artist, playwright, and director who has released two full-length albums, been produced by Black Theatre Workshop, and published by Playwrights Canada Press. Naila is also an assistant professor in the Department of Drama and Speech Communication at the University of Waterloo where she researches feminist, critical race and performance

Her scholarship has been published by the University of Toronto Press, and will appear in forthcoming books published by Demeter Press and Fernwood Publishing. She has performed her award-winning art and scholarship in Canada, France, Jamaica, Japan, Portugal, South Africa and the US.
