Chef Sanjiz Mathews was born in Kerala, India in the Malabar region. He has worked in the hospitality industry in India, the UK, and Canada. The inspiration for his company, The Spice Chef, occurred while speaking with guests who had an interest in Indian cooking but were hesitant to try because of the long list of spices that need to be bought for a one-time use. After buying many spices to make a single dish, those spices would sit around in the pantry without being used. In 2011 The Spice Chef took a fresh approach to traditional Indian cooking by blending perfectly measured spices that allow anyone to create time honoured Indian dishes without the hassle and waste of a long list of spices. No more opening jars of sauces to create Indian dishes. Instead, now people can create traditional meals with fresh, healthy ingredients. Incredible Spice was created by The Spice Chef, Sanjiz Mathews

Harvest Time Cooking Demonstration: Toronto Garlic Festival with Chef Sanjiz Mathews

The Toronto Garlic Festival presents The Spice Chef Sanjiz Mathews from Incredible Spice preparing Chicken Manchurian, an Indian Hakka Chinese dish he learned as a chef in India. Hakka cuisine is the cooking style of the Hakka people in China, who migrated throughout the world, merging their Hakka cooking methods with the local cuisine. While demonstrating how easy it is to make this dish Sanjiz will be talking about the merits of Ontario garlic with garlic grower Peter McClusky.
